Getting Started

Everything you need to start learning with Duowise in a few minutes.

1. Create Your Account

Sign up with your email address or continue with Google. During onboarding, you will choose your native language and the language you want to learn. This helps Duowise generate bilingual lessons tailored to your language pair.

2. Create Your First Lesson

From the dashboard, tap New Lesson. You have three options for source content:

  • Paste a URL — any web article, blog post, or news page. Duowise will extract the main content automatically.
  • Upload a PDF — great for academic papers, ebooks, or saved documents.
  • Type or paste text — for song lyrics, recipes, or any content you already have copied.

Once you submit, Duowise's AI analyzes the content and generates a complete bilingual lesson. This usually takes 30–60 seconds.

3. Study Your Lesson

Each lesson includes several components you can work through at your own pace:

  • Bilingual sentences — read the original text side-by-side with its translation. Tap any sentence to hear it read aloud.
  • Vocabulary & grammar — key words, expressions, and grammar points extracted from the text with definitions and examples.
  • AI conversation — practice speaking about the lesson topic with an AI tutor who adapts to your level.

4. Build Your Vocabulary

Words and expressions from your lessons are automatically added to your vocabulary list. Review them using Duowise's built-in spaced repetition system — it schedules reviews at optimal intervals so you remember what you learn. Vocabulary review is unlimited on all plans.

5. Tips for Effective Learning

  • Choose content you care about. You learn faster when the material genuinely interests you.
  • Review daily. Even 5 minutes of vocabulary review each day makes a significant difference over time.
  • Use the AI conversation. Speaking practice is where the real learning happens. Do not skip it.
  • Start simple. Choose shorter articles at first, then progress to longer and more complex material as your confidence grows.
